Method

How AI changes the economics — and what it doesn't change.

AI-assisted engineering is the reason one person can deliver what used to need a small team. It is not magic, and it does not remove the need for someone who knows what good looks like. Here is exactly how the work runs.

01

Written design before code

Design document per decision

Every significant decision starts as a document: the problem, the options, the trade-offs, and the recommendation with its reasoning. You approve the approach in plain language before a line is written — which is when changing your mind is still free.

02

AI-accelerated implementation

Reviewed, tested code

Specification, then generation, then review. AI produces the volume — services, migrations, tests, admin screens, documentation — and every piece is read, corrected and tested before it lands. The speed gain is real; the review step is what keeps it from becoming a liability.

03

Tests and security in the same pass

Test suites and threat notes

Unit and integration tests are written alongside the feature, not deferred to a phase that never arrives. Secrets stay out of configuration files, authorisation is checked at the boundary, and anything touching tenant data is tested for isolation.

04

A written record of every session

Session summaries and open-item list

Each working session ends with a summary: what changed, which files, what is still open, what comes next. You always know what you paid for, and the project's history stays legible long after anyone remembers the details.

The honest part

What AI does not do

Any consultancy selling AI delivery should be able to tell you where it stops helping. Here is where.

  • 01

It does not choose your architecture. Getting a multi-tenant data model wrong is a decision no model will save you from, and it is the most expensive mistake in this kind of system.

  • 02

It does not own the outcome. When something breaks in production at 6pm, accountability is a person, not a tool.

  • 03

It does not know your business. The rules that matter — how your pricing really works, which customers are exceptions — come out of conversations, not code generation.

  • 04

It does not replace review. Unreviewed generated code is technical debt that arrives faster than the old kind. Every line is read before it ships.

In short

You are not buying generated code. You are buying someone who knows which generated code to throw away — and who signs their name to what ships.

Next step

Most engagements start with a 30-minute call.

No pitch deck and no discovery invoice. We talk about what you're running, what hurts, and whether I'm the right person to fix it.
